The Greatest Love

God Is Love.

I often sit back and think about the condition of this world and one of the most heartbreaking things for me to see is a world that has lost it’s connection with God.

Unless you pursue Him, intimately know Him and diligently seek Him, how will you know His character?

Yet I see a world so far gone and caught up in their own desire, needs and ideas that they have a warped perspective of who God is.

And, as I write these words I feel a reverent fear. As I sit and write trying to consider the character of God how could I even begin to try? How can I ever ever know just how amazing and miraculous God is? The creator of the universe, that Father of many, the giver of life and of so much more.

When I think of God’s character from the word which is the living breath of God, it confirms over and over that God is faithful. He will never break His promises. God alone is good and His mercy and loving kindness will follow you all the days of your life. God is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow never changing always constant, always trustworthy. God is light and in Him there is no darkness (1 John 1:5). God is our protector and provider. Our shelter and our healer. God is everywhere at all times, omnipresent and all powerful.

God is ready to forgive and abundant with loving kindness to all who call on His name. (Psalm 86:5)

His ways are unfathomable. (Romans 11:33) God made you in His image, to walk with Him. You will never be satisfied always seeking to fill the gaping hole in your life until you fill it with the ever abounding love of our Holy GOD. He is your heavenly father and cares for you deeply. Nothing can separate you from His love. A father in heaven who loves and cares for you so deeply that He sent His only son to die for you so that you may be reunited with Him.

I wonder why then so many people in this world drift and and are distant from God? People are separated from GOD, how sad this can be. Firstly sin separates us from God as we commit sin against Him, yet He still forgives us when we repent and the word says that He remembers it no more. There is no guilt and condemnation for those who are in Christ. You are a new creation in Christ Jesus and you have been born again of spirit and what lies behind is gone, look to it no more. You are no longer spiritually dead and a slave to this world but awakened, your eyes are open and the veil is lifted and you are spiritually alive. Once you receive Jesus as your personal savior and you repent from your sin and walk away from it you embark on an incredible journey with God. The sad reality is so many of us need a life shaking, earth shattering realization to make us see that we have drifted and without God in our lives we will be lost. Once you find Him and His presence you will be forever changed. You have found the greatest love.

Now while God is merciful and full of grace and full of Love, He is also all powerful and fierce. The only fear we should live with is a reverent respectful fear of God. Many have lost their respect and fear for God. There is no accountability for their actions and they can continue to live according to the sinful desires of the flesh. The lusts of this world only deceive, tear down and it leads to death and destruction. God as a father does not give a long list of rules to cast judgment on us but to protect us from harm as He loves us, yet judgment will follow for disobedience without repentance. Every action has a reaction and doing what is wrong towards God will follow with consequence but many do not see and will ignore and scoff at the warnings. I am not sure if any of you have ever read the book of Jeremiah. It terrifies me and almost every time I would read this book I would prefer to immediately close the page and return to Psalms where I can read of God’s love and protection rather than fierce judgement. The old testament explains over and over a gracious God calling His people back to Him and warning them of destruction if they do not turn from their wicked ways and idolatry. God had sent prophet after prophet who were hated for their warnings yet the people refused to turn from their ways. Destruction did follow and there are the same warnings today against those who willfully turn against God and His law. There is consequence to disobedience. Even after warning Israel that destruction would follow God still faithfully brought them back to their land. Will it be the same today? Will we listen to God’s warnings?

As has just been said: “Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion.” Hebrew 3:15
Nothing in the world can separate you from His love.
The Love of God.

Today when you hear God’s voice in the gentleness of where you are, know that he jealously pursues you.

“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord”. (Romans 38-39)

What a promise this is.

God is so faithful and loving towards us that NOTHING can separate us from His Love. Nothing that we have ever done or in the creation of this world can change His great love for His people.

A love that conquerers all and has saved so many who receive it.

The greatest love to be found.

The Love of God.
